AIM4WAVES Web Interface Now Live: Advanced Wave Prediction for the North Adriatic Sea

We are excited to announce the launch of the AIM4WAVES web interface, a cutting-edge tool for wave prediction in the North Adriatic Sea. This interface is now publicly accessible at models.elementsworks.com/elementsworks_aim4waves.

About AIM4WAVES

AIM4WAVES is an AI-powered wave modeling system developed by Elements Works SRL as part of our PNRR (NextGenerationEU) funded research project, in partnership with Politecnico di Bari. The model leverages advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) data to provide high-resolution wave predictions.

Key Features

  • Copernicus-Driven Inference: The model uses real-world data from the CMEMS platform, ensuring predictions are based on the latest oceanographic observations
  • Historical Data Access: Query wave data from January 2022 to the present, with hourly resolution
  • High-Definition Modeling: Trained using CFD simulations produced by Politecnico di Bari, providing detailed wave predictions for the North Adriatic region
  • User-Friendly Interface: Simple date and time selection allows researchers to access wave predictions quickly and efficiently

Research Applications

This pre-release version of AIM4WAVES is designed for scientific research applications, including:

  • Marine operations planning and safety
  • Coastal engineering and infrastructure design
  • Maritime navigation and route optimization
  • Offshore energy installations monitoring
  • Climate and oceanographic research

Important Note: This is a pre-release version with limited training data and should be used for scientific research purposes only, not in production environments.

The Technology Behind It

The AIM4WAVES model represents a successful collaboration between Elements Works' AI expertise and Politecnico di Bari's computational fluid dynamics capabilities. By combining machine learning with high-fidelity CFD simulations, we've created a powerful tool that bridges the gap between complex physics-based models and practical, real-time applications.

Project Completion

The launch of this web interface represents the successful completion of the AIM4WAVES PNRR project. By making this tool publicly accessible, we are delivering on our commitment to advance wave prediction capabilities for the Adriatic Sea region and provide valuable resources to the research community.

We invite researchers, marine operators, and oceanography enthusiasts to explore the interface and leverage this tool for their work.
